Minimally Invasive Treatment Inside the Uterus
Operative hysteroscopy is a safe, advanced procedure that allows your doctor to treat problems inside the uterus using a thin, lighted telescope called a hysteroscope. This minimally invasive technique helps remove fibroids, polyps, adhesions, and other abnormalities without the need for open surgery.
It is commonly advised for conditions such as:
Uterine fibroids or polyps causing heavy bleeding or pain
Intrauterine adhesions (Asherman’s syndrome) affecting fertility or menstruation
Retained products of conception after miscarriage or delivery
Abnormal uterine bleeding not responding to medication
Removal of misplaced intrauterine devices (IUDs)
The hysteroscope is gently inserted through the vagina and cervix into the uterus. Using specialized surgical instruments passed through the hysteroscope, Dr. Preeti Meena carefully removes or treats the problem tissue. The procedure is usually done under anesthesia and may take 30 to 60 minutes.
Most patients can go home the same day and experience a quick recovery with minimal discomfort.
